Perpetually Five Part Three

(Perpetually Five tee, thrifted flatform sneakers)

Listen, I know what you're thinking: these people are living the dream. And you're absolutely right.

Ever since I was a kid I have been waaaay too into Maccas: the McNuggets, the salty salty chips and the extra sweet icy cold Coke. Everything about it just makes me so deliriously happy.

So when Jiawa from Closet Voyage and I spotted these vintage Maccas print tees in Perpetually Five's store, we knew we had to do a grungy/amazing/delicious twinsie photo shoot. Jiawa will be able to attest that throughout the shoot I was excited to the point of hyperbole and kept exclaiming "THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DOOOONE!". Even the kids at the skate park wanted a piece of the action. Alas we had to tell them, no, we would not be taking pictures of them and no, they would not be eating our props. It was just one of the best nights ever and I'm so glad to have Jiawa around cause not many people are interested in having a magnificent fast food feast while lazing around on concrete surfaces looking cute (for unknown reasons).

In case you're interested, Perpetually Five do this tee in a number of different prints (the printed part forms a pocket - bonus!),  there is one that is covered in cats which is also very cool. The prints are sewn onto t-shirts made by another Canberra Designer, Pear and a Spare. You can find them in the three little birds and little boy blue store in New Acton.

Perpetually Five will also be showing their all new collection at FASHFEST on Thursday 1 May, you can get your tickets at fashfest.com.au now! Like last year, the event will be held at Canberra Airport

Perpetually Five Part Two

(Perpetually Five koala jumper, Factorie shorts, thrifted flatform sneakers)

Part two of my collaboration with Perpetually Five and FASHFEST involves a certain adorable koala-print jumper. I wanted to play up the fun factor of the piece by shooting it in the arcade at Belconnen Mall, and I got even more into the spirit by donning the teenage uniform of denim shorts, sneakers and mid-rise school socks.

FYI arcades are an ideal place to shoot as they're full of kids who don't judge you for being a weird grown up who likes to hang out on the floor drinking red Fanta slushies. Definitely need to start doing this more often.

Anywho, Perpetually Five will be showing at FASHFEST on 1 May, and you can get your tickets at fashfest.com.au. I myself am super keen to see what they will be showing and what fun touches they will be adding this year! Like last year, the event will be held at Canberra Airport.

Photography is of course by the gorgeous and endlessly talented Closet Voyage.

Perpetually Five Part One

(Perpetually Five printed pants, thrifted everything else)

This is part one of a number of looks Jiawa from Closet Voyage shot for me over the weekend using Perpetually Five's pieces. Mitch Thompson is the designer, and his was one of my favourite shows from last year's FASHFEST, showcasing a collection filled with bright, child-like prints and wacky styling.

I thought I'd tone the pants down a little here for a beachy look with crazy printed thongs and a plain cut-off crop top.

Mitch will be showing at FASHFEST again this year, you can get your tickets at fashfest.com.au if you want to see what he comes up with next! Like last year, the event will be held at Canberra Airport.

Stay tuned for more Perpetually Five coming up on the blog this week xx

flower crown

I love the cool tones of this flower crown more than any other I've seen, so I had to get it for my birthday party this year. And I decided to wear it tonight just to get back to my elvin roots I guess.

daisy dress

(Lee daisy dress, thrifted flatworm sneakers and Guess backpack)

Jiawa, Grant and I had brunch on Sunday and then headed to the only place in Canberra with palm trees (as far as I know…) to take some fashun photos cuz we are bloggers guyz. Anyway I love this little daisy dress, but I think I need to get some chunky white platforms to complete the 90s look, what do you think?

aztec print

Wore this trippy technicolour shirt to the movies tonight, because I like to pretend that I am a surfer from California circa 1994.

flatlay the nation

Hayley (from The Work Diaries) invited Jiawa (from Closet Voyage), Amie (from H2T Fashion Blog) and I to create some flatlays at Westfield Belconnen as part of their Flatlay the Nation competition.

We ended up heading to Sportsgirl and Witchery to put together two masterpieces each. Andrea (from Andrea Pitsilos Photography) took the snaps for us, and I think they turned out awesome! We each have really different style, with Jiawa loving minimalism and Amie going for classic styles with pops of colour. And of course I'm all about casual street style.

FASHFEST tickets on sale

Hey guys, FASHFEST tickets are on sale today from 9am!

Just like last year, FASHFEST will be held at the award-winning Canberra airport with four nights of shows running 30 April to 3 May. Tickets for approximately 850 seats a night are being sold for the red-carpet event through www.fashfest.com.au. Last year the inaugural four-day FASHFEST sold out of all seating and standing room tickets had to be released, so get in quick!

What's new this year?
  • Pre-assigned seating, meaning tickets will sell quicker.
  • VIP experience package ($150)—available for the first time, this is the ultimate way to attend FASHFEST. Includes a front row seat for the fashion show, guided backstage tour (to see behind-the-scenes action), gift bag, two complimentary drinks at the Moet et Chandon-sponsored VIP bar (pre and post event).
  • VIP ticket ($110)—same as above but without the guided backstage tour.
  • Platinum experience ($135)—available for the first time. Enjoy a second row seat for the fashion parade, a guided backstage tour (to see behind-the-scenes action). Mingle at the bar pre-show and post-show.
Platinum ($95), gold ($75) and general admission ($65) tickets are also for sale, as is a four-day package (general admission). These packages (only $200, saving of $60) sold in record time last year as Canberrans flocked to celebrate the work of local designers and creative talent and listen to top musical artists and DJs.

Will you be going to FASHFEST this year?

diamond top and denim shorts

(thrifted top, flatform sneakers and backpack, Fash n Treasure denim shorts)

Had a little blogger meet up in the park with Jiawa from Closet Voyage, Eileen from The Food Avenue and Amie from H2T Fashion Blog. Thanks J and Amie for taking these snaps!

I love wearing my flatforms, they're like fancy sneakers haha! And this thrifted leather Guess backpack was such a good find, I've been relying on it for a few months now because it's such a good size and it leaves my hands free for holding ice creams and kittens ;-)

strawberries and cream

Stuffing my face with strawberries and cream lollies before the blogger meet up on Wed :)
