I was so lucky to get to see Tavi Gevinson speak at the Melbourne Writer's Festival on Friday. She gave a really cool and insightful talk about the nature of creativity, authenticity, originality and fan girling. Basically she said you should let everyone like what they like, and that if you are a massive fangirl of something it less about the object of your admiration and more about you as a person. Having the capacity to love something so deeply and obsessively shows that you have a good heart or something, in Tavi's opinion. And you should not be ashamed of that! I'd never thought of it that way, and I think it's a cool thing to remember sometimes.
This is just a pic of yesterday's Melbourne brunch, it was bacon, egg and cheese on a brioche bun, so delicious! Tonight I'm getting on a plane to London to meet up with my brother and cousins, I'll check back in here when I get there!
