when I go dancing you know I'm a dancing machine

I thought that a baggy top with baggy jeans would be a bit too hobo-ish, but somehow I think it worked out, and would be even more passable with heels. Also refreshed my mind by rediscovering these librarian sunglasses. I underestimate the power of fun sunglasses sometimes, and I am thinking I need some white ones for holidays and the beach. Apparently statement sunglasses never fail to evoke memories of travel.
Wiled away 2 hours making soup today. It will feed me for the next 3 days though...

a day in the park with the boyfriend (jeans)

My first attempt at cutting knee holes. Hard to resit cutting them into shorts you see...

rip rip

I've been at it again...Really need to think about putting the scissors away.

I've been shying away from black recently, but I was feeling inspired and this tee was the only thing on hand that I was willing to sacrifice. Definitely also thinking of doing some long sleeve cropped tees and jumpers too.

double dare

Psynopsis has set me the interesting challenge of re-posting the tenth picture ever posted on my blog, so here it is! It's my awesome gnarly cowboy boots which I'm not even sure have been worn since then. It's kind of a catch 22 that when I wear them, I always feel a little too much like a cowboy, if I can even say such a horrendous thing.

Spent the morning doing yoga while watching Sex and the City, wearing stripes, sun baking and reading, losing track of time and missing Oprah, and at the supermarket in orange heels, eating free cheese. The afternoon plan involves cake-baking and movies.

Well, anyway, I dare you...

soft focus

My favourite rings of the moment, and a surprisingly loved sherbet orange nail polish. I am all over pastel nail polish at the moment, the best in my collection all have 'spring' in the name...

Q and A

As promised, here are the answers to some of the questions you guys kindly asked....

Why did you start blogging?
I did a unit of web design at Uni, and we had to make our own blogs and study the features we liked on other websites/blogs. I guess I realised how many cool blogs were out there and decided to start my own. For the record, I just barely scraped a pass in that class.

Your favorite piece of clothing?
Probably my light denim shorts. As you can tell, I pretty much wear them every day and they just don't get old too me. The will in a few years though, I know from past experience.

What's your favourite place to shop?
Op-shops (charity shops), hands down. They are so cheap that you end up buying things you normally wouldn't, which can sometimes work out really well. You're never afraid to alter things you buy (read cut up) things you buy, which is how I've got some of my favourite pieces.

Favourite designer?
Alexander Wang and Camilla and Marc for their loose and subtle sexy, and Jean Paul Gaultier for his costuming genius in The Fifth Element. And Romance Was Born for doing a second catwalk show as crazy as their first.

Favourite blogs/style inspiration?
I love Fashion Toast and Fashion-Nerdic, both of whom do beautiful and inspiring posts. Fashion Toast is very neutral so I love all the white, denim, and lust-inducing jewelery. Fashion Nerdic is all about simple pieces worn with heels and is really inspiring to me in terms of colour use. I love Victoria Beckham too and sometimes the Olsens.

Do you use remote control for taking your pictures?
I use the timer on the camera like most bloggers I'm guessing. I fantasise about having a photographer ;)

Trapezoid

I got this trapezoidal(?) singlet from a 3 for $10 sale. I always thought the trend was a bit weird and possibly unflattering, but that's because I was crazy. I feel like a floaty goddess. Also on show, my awesome grandma lawn bowl sunglasses. I am definitely planning on updating my sunglass repertoire soon...

summer/winter palete

Since I'm going to be spending most of the Australian winter in the American summer, I've been planning my summer wardrobe all over again. Surely necessary. It has been decided that I can quite comfortably live draped in washed out tones of white, blush and grey for 2 months. Although I am hoping to get a few cold days here where I can wear my not-yet-discovered awesome thrifted parka. Definitely my obsessive idea of the season.

New Farm Park

Wearing my holey singlet again, this time down by the riverside, watching children play in the water with tennis rackets(?). Looking convincingly ratty :) I am thinking that I need to do some more cutting up on this too...

Last day to enter my giveaway! The link is on the sidebar.

Mercury Blue

Nail polish inspired by my favourite Sailor Moon Character, Ami aka Sailor Mercury.

Somehow managed to stop by the supermarket on the way home and leave with only a mars bar and a snickers bar. The only thing I needed was milk, but try to remember that when there is half price chocolate around.

Roosu Soksu

Japanese girls are famous for their roosu soksu (loose socks) and all of my friends can attest to my obsession with them as a schoolgirl. I was lucky enough to receive this pair from a friend after a trip to Japan. I thought it was about time I cracked them out again in a more grown up fashion. That is, if long socks can ever really be considered grown up.
