double fringed

I was worried that the awkward hemline of this T would somewhat truncate, but I was actually really happy with how it looked with my trusty cut-offs. I've also been really getting into the idea of basics with a twist, and the fringing on the T and cut-offs makes them individual without compromising on versatility. Anything with draping, shoulder appliques or cutouts is equally appealing at this stage.

Blanket

Black and white...cute, but a little straight. A necessary accessory: the oh-so-timeless blanket of stars. Now, if only I could find my poncho of love and eternal friendship.

Also, just rediscovered the insane awesomeness of the public library. I think people need to be reminded that you can borrow books, dvds, magazines, cds, even video games for FREE! And you can borrow them for a whole month! For some reason I seem to have repressed this knowledge. Okay, so the copy of Harper's Bazaar I borrowed is about 8 months old, but I did also get Friends, Black Books and Britney on DVD which more than compensates.

return of the shredder

Been having mischievous fun making a mess chopping up this top. It started out life as a kind of t shirt sweater. It will probably end its life as a sad pile of wrinkly wool. In the mean-time I am hoping to create a kind of beachy, deconstructed singlet.

just do it

The iconic Nike T brings me back to my 90s childhood, when everything big was cool, and caps were backwards, duh. I was very attached to the baggy trend, and held on to it until it was well and truly over in the early noughties. And now it is back again, I'm glad I didn't really have to wait too long to wear it again. Cause, honestly, who wants to party in skin tights?

gold chains

I've had a few comments on the necklace I've been wearing recently. This is the original necklace I bought at the local op shop, which I just twisted up and added some safety pins with silver beads.
I think a neutral statement piece like this is just so useful, beacause it can just be chucked on with a t shirt or simple dress to pull everything together. Like, you know, KA POW!

if you flash your heart I won't deny it

I don't normally post music, but this clip is just too unreal to risk missing out on. I've been a long time fan of The Temper Trap, and Love Lost was one of the highlights of their album for me. So when I saw this clip, I knew I would be besotted, but even that didn't prepare for its extreme awesomeness.

This is the BEST investment of 4 minutes you will make today. TRUST ME.

polar

Cold weather is a welcome change when you live in constant spring and you've just bought an unnecesary fur coat. I wore it to the supermarket but eventually got too hot waiting in line and had to abandon it. And then I realised I was covered in white hair...

drapey things and safety pins

The ocean is playing on my mind today.
A white draped dress like a wet t shirt.
Faded, shredded denim washed out by sun and sand.
Treasure chest chains twisted with pins.
Sea foam green laquer.
Goddess sandals (2nd pair) that snapped in half today.
All good things must come to an end.
But there are plenty more to come.

Oh friend you've left me speechless

Ate half a pineapple, did push ups listening to Hannah Montana, bought two coats that are completely unessecary given the climate in Brisbane, unwisely went for a walk in these heels, sat in the grass playing with my camera, hosed the dirt off my feet and settled in for SYTYCD.

grey on grey

I actually wore my pink shorts out, they are a lot more comfy unzippered.
I bought this grey bag filled with clothes at the op shop for $15.
It is exactly like an elephant in size, colour and texture.
The elephant tote.
