hard to be soft, tough to be tender

(second hand everything!)

Spice Girls shoes and stripper dress. yesssssssssssss.

I'm hoping I can post again before Xmas but I am getting a bit bogged down wrapping gifts and packing for an upcoming trip and move! Practicalities make exciting things seem so much less exciting. Oh well, I hope everyone is getting hyped up for the big day! I'm hoping to go Christmas lighting tonight :)

(dress donated by friend, secondhand wifebeater, Sportsgirl(?) cuff, Target heels)

Phew I just got back from a gummi bear-fuelled Christmas shopping spree! Just coming down from the high now...
I really had to pull my socks up because I hadn't bought any presents before today and we are getting dangerously close!

Anyway in terms of clothing... I salvaged this dress from a friend who was about to donate it. She thought it was outdated but I don't worry about such trivialities I guess! It was fun to dress down the sparkle with some wife beater action. I do apologise for the red eye I'm hopeless at fixing it!

thought I'd re-invent just fifty percent of myself

(secondhand dress, shoes, necklace and beanie, rings from markets and hand-crafted by boyfriend)

Just chilling out in the tip aka my backyard! Even though it is too hot to wear it I couldn't resist buying this adorable beanie - I'm sure it will pull its weight over winter. A big shout out to my boyfriend who made me this blue ring (amoung others) out of a spoon(!) for a graduation gift. Love you S xxx

she did what now?!

Yes, it really is true... I have officially graduated! Now I can relax knowing that my hectic 12 hour a week workload will soon be a hectic 38 hour a week workload. Wait a minute..... becoming a real person is hard......
Luckily my parents bought me a big ol Country Road bag to soften the blow :)

where the wild things are

(secondhand t shirt and fur hood, jewelery from markets)

After seeing Where the wild things are yesterday I thought it would be fitting to do a furry outfit post. After trying to explain to the op shop lady that I only wanted this hood without the jacket for a good 5 minutes, I eventually gave in bought the whole thing, only to discard the jacket in the other charity bin across the road. Luckily it was half price because of the oppressive heat, so it was still very much worth the trouble!

dirty pop

I got bored and painted my face. Literally with face paint. Not lipstick. But I almost think it worked better than lipstick in an awesome 80s, matte kind of way!

wet look

This dress is fine on the front, because of all the draping, but the back is see through like a wet wet t-shirt. So much so that I had to wear another BLACK dress, not just a white slip, underneath to keep my modesty intact. It was so worth it.

Impulse control

(secondhand jumper and boots)

Went shopping today and bought some aqua (soon to be cut-off) jeans and a deliciously baggy grey jumper. That is in addition to the chunky blue ring, rainbow pastel tank and ripped jeans I bought yesterday. I occured to me in a moment of impulse buying induced clarity that I don't even own a perfect long white t shirt. I should probably try to remember that during my next shopping frenzy.
Regardless, there will be fresh pics to follow.

(secondhand dress, jewelery from markets, target shoes)

I hastily took these photos before a farewell/end of uni cocktail night. I am going to be very embarrassed one day when someone catches me taking photos in weird places like this and asks me what I'm doing!

SAVE photoshoot

Some friends of mine were in need of some models to showcase their clothing line SAVE,and were kind enough to ask me to help out! Their inspiration comes from David Lynch's movie catalogue, though I'm pretty sure we were all thinking "VAMPIRES!".

The first day of summer yesterday was marked with the coldest day in a good few weeks, but that tends to be the way of things doesn't it? I just ate the 2nd chocolate from my High School Musical advent calendar! Happy December! xoxoxox
